About Pedal Beat
What happens when like-minded fitness enthusiasts are bitten by the cycling bug? What started as an exciting new fitness activity brought many of us together in a group that we named Le Peloton. Over the months, we noticed that the heat (relentless in our dear Chennai), road and traffic conditions, safety concerns kept many cyclists off the road, even though they were quite convinced cycling was an activity that was enjoyable and sustainable. Sometime in 2015, when the incessant rains in Chennai kept us all away from the roads, a group of us had the idea of starting Indoor Cycling in Chennai. Much inspired by the centers in NYC and other global metros, we could see how many Chennaiites like us would love the concept. Thus was born the idea of PedalBeat – our humble effort to introduce in Chennai, organized indoor cycling classes in the format of internationally recognized centers. The past few months have been a period of intense research, learning, and legwork to get this idea translated into our first studio. On 7th March 2016, we opened pedal beat's first studio in our own locality – Alwarpet. With a membership of 35 people on Day1, our first month saw us receive a phenomenal response from the community, allowing us to reach 100 members in record time.
