A great sweat sesh requires to feel great comfort within to shine like a diamond in building stamina, great strength and a body to die for! We believe, if your ‘inner’ God is happy, you look happier outside. Tiny things in life could bring catastrophe if not given enough attention and sometimes, make you get all the wrong attention that you want to avoid at all cost!

Here are some of the untold rules you should follow to make yourself comfortable at gym during workout.

Wear clean and comfortable clothes

“Wearing sweaty under wears and gym wears might cause bacterial growth on your skin,” says Maya from Gympik.com, the biggest fitness aggregator in India. The right size and material do matter a lot. “It’s all about the base layers. As a competitive rower, there is nothing worse than being distracted by a shirt that chafes your armpit or underwear that keeps riding up while you are trying to focus on your riding stroke,” says Joshua from JoshCorsbyFitness.com.

It’s a better idea to wear clothes that are meant to be for workout than choosing clothes that you wear at home or to work. Comfortable workout attire ensures you don’t carry out a spur-of-the-moment peep show of your privates while doing a bench press or any complicated compound move that requires your legs to move frequently. Nobody wants to confront such a sight that makes them feel uncomfortable and most importantly, you wouldn’t like to be the laughing stock at the gym. Keep the balls in your court and opt for some supportive boxer briefs like these.

Maintain basic hygiene

When you are at gym, you are bound to sweat and that’s why you have come there- to sweat out. Maintaining some basic hygiene helps you go a long way. Nobody wants to embrace the sweat that has left a residue on the machine seat or the bench and that’s the reason you should carry your own towel at the gym. While you are busy in building that chiselled chest or abs, you might be making the rest of the crowd cringe for leaving sweat stains on the machines you have been hopping from one to the other.

Use proper shoes

Finding a shoe that fits you well and serves your purpose is no cake walk. You need to keep a few things in mind while picking the right shoe for yourself such as your feet type (for e.g. for flat feet you need different shoes), workout type (cardio, HIIT etc.) or yoga. You wouldn’t like your socks sliding off while you are doing mountain climbers or sprinting on the treadmill for an intense cardio. While the right shoe can make your workout more effective providing the right support to your feet and the whole body, an ill-fitting shoe can cause soreness in your feet and increases the chance of injury too.

Don’t let your stink send a wrong impression

You surely don’t want a lot of attention for all wrong reasons! Sweating out in the gym can cause give you a ripped body but it can also cause bacterial growth that can cause bad body odour. Make sure you use deodorant and perfumes to avoid body odour caused from excessive sweat. If you are allergic to deodorant, talk to your dermatologist for options to avoid unpleasant circumstances. While you are wondering why people are avoiding your company, the rest of your gym comrades are planning to gift you a goodie bag, full of deodorants!
