The moment you tell people that you’re a software engineer you can actually see the admiration in their eyes. But look more closely; you will also see pity. Wondering Why? Move your body, baby

If your workplace is within walking distance, avoid the bus or car. You can even cycle, for that matter. “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” and you, a living unhealthiness! Take the stairs instead of the elevator wherever you can, take a break from constant staring at the laptop and go for a brisk walk, do some easy stretches at your desk whenever you feel your limbs are going numb (not literally though) from sitting in front of your laptop all the time! All these will soon develop into habits and very healthy ones at that too!

Fitness buddies are the saviors

Your colleagues need not be your friends but they can be your comrades in arms in the battle field that is the gym where you can wage war against lethargy, bloating, fatigue, stress, flabby abs and secure your victory against fitness deterioration. That sounded a little dramatic but you know what I mean. If your office has a gym then nothing can be better than this! Sneak out an hour after work and go for some serious workout. Nothing like having a workout partner to motivate you to exercise regularly.

Eat well to Stay well

You spend almost the entire day staring at the computer screen resting your butt on the chair. Your eyes need rest from time to time and so do your mind and body. While your exercise can take care of the extra flab, eating healthy can prove to be beneficial to your overall health! Whether you are a veg or a non-veg person, choosing healthier meal over spicy and oily foods can help you in the long run.
