Mixing it Up:

A man of comfort, Momoa doesn’t want his fitness regimen to look dull and boring, and hence he’s more attentive towards keeping it fun and energetic throughout. His idea of making the workout fun is all about mixing different workouts with the things he prefers the most like climbing, boxing, and surfing when he’s not training for any movie.

Combining Cardio & Weights:

According to Jason, your body needs cardio as well as weight training. So, he combines cardio and weight training, and his reasons are cardio works for better definition and weight training for bulking up. He also prefers climbing and he ensures this is an integral part of his regular workout regime. In his workout regimen, he adds grueling super sets for his shoulder and chest. To supplement his rock climbing workouts, Jason Momoa would also do one-handed overhead pulldowns. He tries to continue with one arm till it feels the burn, and then switches to the other.

Functional Training:

Momoa’s training includes a lot of functional training that involves pull-ups, one handed overhead pull-downs for his back and crucial barbarian workout. When he was training for Justice League, he said it was crucial workout routine he was following that comprised of reps from 1 to 10 and then coming down from 10 to 1, which made him terribly ripped. He also followed the training routine in which he had to use low weights, lesser reps, and lesser amount of rest in between each set. This made him shed more pounds faster with impressive shape as this involves faster pace, higher tempo, and more burn. These circuits which is called Accelerated Results, help burn more calories and bring that ripped effect. In one of his interviews, Momoa said that gradually increasing the weight could help you get shredded and build lean muscles.


Jason Momoa’s Diet

Well, to get a killer body like Jason Momoa, it doesn’t only need a strict workout regimen, it also requires a lot of dedication to stick to a routine that takes care of your diet and workout, both. Though his diet and workout routine change according to the role he is playing, his body needs enough fuel to sustain the excruciating workouts and depending on that, he follows high protein diet that includes boiled chicken breast, green vegetables, and ocean fish. But, the man of comfort and ease that he is, he likes to live in his own skin, yet do the rules whole heartedly whenever there is the need for it. His dedication to achieve the target body for any role makes him follow a strict regimen, even to the extent where he needs to avoid carbs and follow a clean diet. His dedication is visible in the characters he plays and we can’t stop drooling over his chiselled physique.
